Is Connecticut the latest hot spot for music? It could be according to Paste Magazine. They just posted “10 Connecticut Bands You Should Listen To Know” where they break down CT’s hottest talent. Since I am old and over I don’t have time to listen to new music so I figured I would breakdown three of my favorite artists with CT roots

River Cuomo

The frontman for Weezer was raised on an ashram in Pomfret, Connecticut. If you don’t know who Rivers is I can’t help you.

Chris Carrabba

You know him best as Dashboard Confessional. This dreamboat captured our hearts back in the early 2000s with his endearing heart-on-his-sleeve odes to love and loss. While his musical endeavors are connected to Florida he was born in West Hartford.
Dashboard Confessional – Hands Down (w/ Michael Stipe) (because it will give you chills)

Darien’s Richard Melville Hall is best known as Moby, the tiny, bald DJ/Muscian/Photographer. He is probably best know for his songs with Gwen Stefani but I prefer to remember him from his days when “techno” was the next big thing.
Moby – All That I need Is To Be Loved

These are just a few of my picks but here is a pretty good list if you are curious who else in music has ties to CT.
