It’s a sad day for anyone who has ever enjoyed a pint at legendary New Haven watering hole Delaney’s Tap Room. A three alarm fire broke out at the Whalley Avenue restaurant on Monday night burning the entire building to the ground. It took about five hours and nearly 50 fire fighters to put out the blaze. The building was more than 100 years old. It was a big part of New Haven history in the Westville area of the city.
“It’s really, really sad, this is where everyone comes. When people ask you where you live and you say Westville and they ask where that is and you say Delaney’s, they know where you live,” Anastasia Okoniewski of New Haven told WFSB
Anyone who loves craft beers, tasty food, and just a cool New Haven hang will definitely miss Delaney’s. Let’s take a look back at some of the good times.
Cheers Delaney’s. We’ll miss you.
