I don’t know about you all, but I really hate paying full price for just about anything. This is why I’ll scour the Internet looking for the best deals, coupon codes, and sales.

At Books and Company in Hamden, everyday is a sale. Why? Because the books are half of list price. And, sometimes, the markdowns can go even further.

It’s music to my ears for an avid reader like me.

Here’s how it works: Books and Company stocked with books that people bring in for trade credit. But, don’t get put off by the ‘used’ label — the books are in excellent condition.

But, Books and Company has more than great prices — the store has an excellent selection. There is a wide variety of volumes for all ages — from kids to adult mysteries, to young adult to the classics.

I’ve been coming to Books and Company for quite a few years, and it is my go-to place for books. Since I read a ton, I go through a lot of books. It can get pretty expensive at times. It is an affordable option to help satisfy my literary cravings, and is also one of my favorite places to curl up with a good book, and a cup of delicious coffee — purchased from the coffee shop inside the store, Legal Grounds of course. And when I’m done with the books, I can bring them in to get trade credit — perfect for all of the books that I don’t want to have, books I used for classes, or if I want to do some spring cleaning.

Books and Company’s offers span so much more than great books though. In the middle of the store, you can purchase unique jewelry, stuffed animals, cards and stationery. It is the perfect place to buy a gift for that person who has everything, and they are all reasonably priced as well.

As I’m looking for a stack of books to bring to the beach, you bet that I’ll be heading to Books and Company to get them.
