Better get your popcorn ready, folks. We have some celebrity drama here for you. Late Friday night rappers Nicki Minaj and Cardi B got into a fight on Friday night at New York’s Fashion Week’s annual Harper’s Bazaar Icons Party late Friday night.

According to an article on CBS News 12 entitled Nicki Minaj, Cardi B Get Into Fight At New York Fashion Week Party, an anonymous source said Minaj was finishing up a conversation with someone when Cardi B tried to attack her. In the fight, the article said Cardi B threw a shoe at Minaj, while her guards threw an elbow at Cardi B’s head. Minaj was left unscathed, while Cardi B had a bump on her head.

After the fight, Cardi B took to Instagram to vent her feelings. In her post, she said that Nicki made comments about her daughter, amoungst other things.

Meanwhile, Minaj just wants to move past it. According to an article on People entitled Nicki Minaj Won’t Press Charges Against Cardi B After Their Explosive Fight: Report, she reportedly won’t press charges. Furthermore, the article said that the rapper felt “unbothered by the altercation. Additionally, the article said that Minaj doesn’t want “drama to escalate” from the incident.

Now, Cardi B and Nicki Minaj have been rivals since last year when Cardi B began to become more successful. According to an article on Page Six entitled Nicki Minaj and Cardi B Rivalry Was Bound To Get Ugly, it was only expected to take this ugly turn.

The article said that it began in May 2017, when Minaj name-dropped Offset (Cardi B’s boyfriend) in her collaboration in Katy Perry’s Swish Swish. In the song, Minaj says:

Silly rap beefs just get me more checks
My life is a movie, I’m never off set
Me and my amigos (no, not Offset).
Swish Swish, awww I got them upset!

Of course, this didn’t sit well with Cardi B. The article said that she took to Instagram Live to discuss her feelings on fake people in the industry.

The fight continued throughout 2017. According to the article, Minaj took another dig at her foe in a verse in the song No Flag. In the song, Minaj said that Cardi B’s success was “because of me.” Cardi B then responded to Minaj’s jab in the song Motorsport in August 2017.

With that being said, the rap industry is no stranger to disputes. For instance, Foxy Brown and Lil Kim have been at battle for over 20 years. To this day, that feud hasn’t been resolved.

Hopefully, this won’t span that long, but we’ll have to wait and see.
