Election Day 2016 was an emotion-filled day, but it’s all coming to a close now. Most of the votes have been tallied and the races have been called. Here is how things shook out for Connecticut on November 8:

Presidential Race: Connecticut’s 7 electoral votes went to Democrat Hillary Clinton. Donald Trump won the race and will become the next President of the United States.

Senate Race: In the race between incumbent Democrat Richard Blumenthal and Republican challenger Dan Carter, Senator Richard Blumenthal was re-elected.

District 1 Congressional Race: In the race between incumbent Democrat John Larson and Republican challenger Matthew Corey, Representative John Larson won.

District 2 Congressional Race: In the race between incumbent Democrat Joe Courtney and Republican challenger Daria Novak, Representative Joe Courtney won.

District 3 Congressional Race: In the race between incumbent Democrat Rosa DeLauro and Republican challenger Angel Cadena, Representative Rosa DeLauro won.

District 4 Congressional Race: In the race between incumbent Democrat Jim Himes and Republican challenger John Shaban, Representative Jim Himes won.

District 5 Congressional Race: In the race between incumbent Democrat Elizabeth Esty and Republican challenger Clay Cope, Representative Esty won.
