The year is 1992, and a bingo hall on the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal lands adds table games and becomes the casino Foxwoods as we know it today. Four years later, Mohegan Sun casino opens on the grounds of the Mohegan tribe.

And that’s pretty much how it’s been for nearly twenty years. If you wanted to gamble, it was either that, or terrible, terrible Atlantic City. Or Massachusetts for Keno.

Until recently that is. Yonkers, Queens, and Massachusetts all have or are getting new casinos. Oh, and Connecticut too…perhaps.

But the next casino could be coming to Connecticut in literally the most unlikely of places – a mall.

Yep – the Enfield Square Mall to be exact. They are looking to make some pretty bold renovations. And that’s one of them. So instead of another Macy’s or Lord & Taylor, you get the loosest slots in town!

Kinda cool for those in Hartford looking to spend money and kill a few hours. Kinda weird that it’ll be nestled in between a Lids and a Cold Stone Creamery.
