Last night, Arcade Fire played an absolutely incredible show at Bridgeport’s Webster Bank Arena on the latest stop of their Reflektor World Tour. The beginning of their encore kicked off with a performance of “Normal Person,” but before it, Arcade Fire’s frontman Win Butler told the crowd about a dream he had involving Fairfield’s own John Mayer:
…and this was immediately after they had their papier-machie doubles “cover” John Mayer’s “Your Body Is a Wonderland,” until Win yelled at them to get off stage.
Apparently, this feud goes at least as far back to a weirdly random comment that John Mayer made back in September 2010 on the Fuse TV show Hoppus On Music, when he was interviewed by Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus:
So…shots fired, Mr. Mayer – and in your own hometown.
