Didn’t we just do this last year?

Connecticut and Keno are like a troubled couple who just can’t figure it out or agree on anything. Every year the buzz starts up again and then goes away. According to The Day it’s now back again.

The CT Lottery is working with the two big tribes who operate the two gigantic casinos in the state once again and things seem to be going smoothly so far.

Let’s hope this is the time they finally figure this out and get Keno happening here in Connecticut.

In the meantime, I will introduce you to a game that is even more fun than Keno itself…

Bar Room Keno!

Here’s how it works:

First, you have to have at least three people for it to really work and be a party. The more the better.

Make sure you have plenty of $1’s on you. Hit the ATM, get change somewhere, go to The Gold Club before, whatever you have to do.

Then, just go to any bar that offers Keno. Hopefully this will be sometime soon in Connecticut.

Get a drink at the bar before the game starts.

Everyone picks one number and puts in $1 for the first Keno game. Designate one person to control the pot. Keno games run every 3-5 minutes.

Once the numbers starting coming out on the Keno screen is when the fun and yelling starts. If your number comes up, you are currently in the lead to win the pot.

Now, if someone else in the groups number is drawn before that Keno round is over then it’s a draw and everyone puts in another $1.

This keeps going until someone wins by being the only number in the group drawn in a round.

Take it from me, this gets nutty, intense, and real fun. I once won close to a hundred dollars in $1’s. No joke.

If you want to get real crazy, you can up the buy-in for each game. $2, $3, $4, and so on.

I’m guessing the state would be against you playing this way as it doesn’t really contribute to their hopeful windfall of millions  in Keno revenue, but whatever. It’s better odds and much more of a party this way.
