What team? Wildcats!
The Bethel High School Marching Wildcats are national champions! The team competed in the US Bands National championships on Sunday and took home the title. They also cleaned house with most of the awards, too.
NewsTimes reports that the band competed against 24 bands from across the nation in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Besides taking home the title of national champions, they also were awarded the prestigious Esprit de Corps Award, which is based on a band’s “pride, spirit, enthusiasm, friendliness, and unity of purpose for the activity of marching bands in this country.”
The Wildcats also won four other awards: Best Music, Best Visual, Best Overall Effect, and Best Color-Guard.
They even beat their personal best, scoring a 96.813, almost a full point over their previous record.
But the coolest thing about this band, above all else, is that they remained undefeated through the competition season.
Way to make Connecticut proud!
