Bridgeport is hiring police officers.  Mayor Bill Finch teamed up with Police Chief Joseph Gaudett Jr. today to announce their initiative to hire more officers.  Finch said that their goal remains to make Bridgeport a place where people will want to raise their families.  He also said that Bridgeport has made a lot of progress, but still more has to be done.

Not only do you need to be committed to the city of Bridgeport to be a cop, but you should also be brave.  Keep in mind that the FBI named Bridgeport, Hartford and New Haven three of the most crime ridden places in the country.  Bridgeport’s Police Chef Gaudett reacted to this study in February of last year and stated that the findings were overly simplistic and utterly misleading.

So, the question is- Would you be a Bridgeport cop if given the opportunity?
