Last year, Bridgeport held an election for mayor. Democrat Bill Finch, who had been mayor for eight years, and eligible for re-election, did not win.

It’s not that he didn’t want to. In fact, he lost to another Democrat who prevented him from even being on the ballot. Joe Ganim, who was mayor of Bridgeport from 1991 until 2003 – when he had to resign because of corruption and went to prison until 2010 – he won the primary, and the election.

Please process that for a second – think of just how terrible you have to be at your job for that to happen to you. And that’s how awful Bill Finch was at his job.

But, despite everyone thinking that you’re a disaster, it doesn’t mean it’s all over for Bill Finch. In fact, he’s getting a fancy new job!

He’ll now be in charge of the New York State Thruway Authority.

So make sure your EZ-Pass is loaded with cash – because those New York tolls are certainly going up just like those Bridgeport taxes did.
