If you asked me last week what reality show would be next to hit Connecticut, I would have easily said something trashy like “The Real Housewives of Fairfield County” or “Westport Wives”. Turns out it will be a food related show. Which I guess, would have been a close second guess. So many foodies here in Connecticut.

The popularity of food related reality shows has skyrocketed in the past decade. Which is a much better trend than most of the reality television crap that is allowed to hit the airwaves (looking at you Honey Boo Boo). One of the most delicious food shows on TV is TLC’s Cake Boss. If you have never watched this show, you are missing out on some quality food television. It airs Monday nights at 9pm, so set that DVR for the next episode. It’s totally worth it.

Carlo’s Bakery is the New Jersey bakery where the show takes place that has now become famous. Ever since the show launched they have naturally seen a huge increase in visitors to the shop. What they have also noticed is how many visitors come from the Greenwich area of Connecticut to visit the shop and take cake making classes. Enough so to make the chief brand officer for Carlo’s Bakery, Adam Bourcier take notice.

They will now be opening a location right here in Greenwich. It will be located in the gray stucco building where the Urban Outfitters is on Elm Street. It will look just like the signature New Jersey Bakery from the show. The Greenwich shop will be the first one they have opened outside of New Jersey. Hoboken, Ridgewood, and Westfield New Jersey are the other locations. Bourcier said that they chose Greeniwch because of the great downtown it has, like the other three locations.

A date for the grand opening will be announced soon.

In celebration of Cake Boss coming to Connecticut and the kick-off of Shark Week here is the episode where they made an amazing shark cake.
