Pizza lovers, get ready to indulge. Today is National Cheese Pizza Day. Therefore, if you’re contemplating getting a slice for lunch or having pizza for dinner, I say go for it. It’s Hump Day. Treat yourself. Unless you’re lactose intolerant like me. Then, please don’t.

Of course, living in close proximity to the pizza capital of the world — New Haven — everyday is National Cheese Pizza Day. We have the big three — Sally’s, Pepe’s and Modern. And, of course, there are little hole in the wall spots that are serving up delicious pies downtown such as Abate’s, Da Legna and Bar.

And, even if you don’t live in New Haven, Connecticut has a ton of great options for pizza. For those of you who live in Milford, there’s Bella Napoli, Colony Grill, Papa’s Pizza II, Silver Sands Pizza, and Mama Theresa’s. Up the road in Hamden there’s also local favorite DiMatteo’s. And, if you’re in the Hartford area George’s Pizza Restaurant, Blind Pig, Savoy, and Angelina’s are some local favorites for a slice.
