After two weeks of the Furious 7, the latest and possibly greatest installment of the Fast & Furious franchise, dominating the US & Global Box Offices, a new challenger strides up to the plate.
This film, also a sequel to a box office juggernaut, originally roared onto the scene in 2009 blowing away it’s original projection. A film that is destined to spawn more and more sequels, because when it ain’t broke don’t fix it. If it makes money at the movies, prepare to see it many more times.
I’ve been to the future and there are more Paul Blart movies.

Damn right. There will be more Blart. Much more Blart. But before we get there, we must first stop here. Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 arrives this weekend.
All jokes aside, this movie made hundreds of millions of dollars worldwide when it debuted. The fact that there is a sequel is not surprising at all; the fact it took six years to get it out is. If Adam Sandler’s deal with Netflix to produce full length feature films for the streaming service winds up being a success, I’d expect Kevin James to get a similar deal to produce as many Blart or Blart-esque comedies as possible.
So few things truly work in Hollywood. A big dude doing physical comedy is always a sure-fire bet.
WHAT’S IT ABOUT: Paul Blart (Kevin James) takes his teenage daughter (Raini Rodriguez) with him to Las Vegas for a security-guard expo. While there, he stumbles upon a heist and must single-handedly apprehend the crooks.
