Let’s face it, coffee is a very integral part of MANY people’s mornings. Some can’t even function without it.
That’s why the Parsons Perks coffee shop, located in Milford’s government center aptly known as the “Parsons Complex,” is becoming a fixture for many a worker’s morning routine!
The entire staff is run by Milford public schools special needs students, and that’s really why so many people swing by to grab a cup in the morning.
“They learn all about money, customer service, and how to interact with the public,” said Joanne Barrett who started the program.
Not only do they serve up coffee, all of the equipment has to be set up each morning. They follow instructions on clipboards.
“We have students after they exit our program. We hope that they are able to be gainfully employed,” said Barrett.
