Call it racism or call it a mental illness, either way, a Connecticut girl tortured her poor roommate because she wanted her to move out.  By torture, I mean, destroying personal property by rubbing her period blood all over it.

Hartford Courant reports that the only way to describe 18-year-old Chennel “Jazzy” Rowe’s first month at the University of Hartford is hell.  Pure, unadulterated hell.  Her roommate, 18-year-old Brianna Rae Brochu, of Harwinton, saw to that.

Jazzy, who is black, says that since day 1, Brianna, who is white, ignored her and treated her like a ghost. Sometimes, she would shut the lights off in the room where Jazzy studied… just because.  But, that’s child’s play compared to what this psycho did next.

Soon, Jazzy developed a severe throat infection that baffled everyone, including doctors:

“It started with throat pain. I thought maybe because it’s colder up here, I’m just probably catching a cold.  The sore throat pain got worse and it was just throat pain. And this was happening for about a month. It got to the point where I had extreme throat pain where I couldn’t sleep, to the point where I couldn’t speak. Like I’d try to whisper, and I could barely whisper.”

Doctors prescribed Jazzy antibiotics, saying she managed to catch some bad bacteria in the back of her throat.  Figuring it would clear up in a couple days, they sent her on her way.  But the pain persisted.

Jazzy didn’t learn what caused the infection until the day she moved out, about a month later, when she bumped into her roommate:

“She asked me if I was moving out and I simply said ‘Yup’ and she made a face and said ‘OK’ and then I saw her pick up her phone and automatically start texting.”

But Brianna posted to Instagram instead, celebrating the news.   And, in that post, she revealed exactly what she did to make Jazzy move out.  Brianna secretly poisoned the girl in the most disgusting and inhumane ways possible.

Yes, you read that correctly.   Brianna actually stuck her roommate’s toothbrush up her butt.  If that doesn’t announce to the world, “I’m a sick and twisted person please put me in a straight jacket,” I don’t know what will.  No, seriously, think about the person you hate the most and ask yourself if you’d do the same with their toothbrush.

Or, if you menstruate, if you’d rub your period blood all over their belongings.

If you said no to both of these scenarios, congratulations, you can peacefully coexist with the majority of the planet because you’re not a sociopath.

As an aside, feel free to read up on what fecal matter exposes you to HERE.   So, that answered why Jazzy’s throat burned like an inferno.  She’s lucky that’s all that happened, as extremely sad as that sounds.

Also, after scrolling through her roommate’s Instagram, Jazzy found more photographic evidence of Brianna sabotaging her belongings.  Including rubbing a used tampon on her Steve Madden bag.  Might I direct you to what diseases blood exposes you to over HERE.

Let’s not excuse Brianna spitting into her roommate’s oils that she put on her skin.  As expected, here’s an article detailing all the diseases saliva carries HERE.

Horrified, Jazzy contacted campus security and the school about her deranged roommate.  But, nothing seemed to move.  Instead, she signed a “no contact” order which barred her from approaching or speaking with her roommate.

Then, the school later threatened her with expulsion if she uttered a word about this to anyone.

Thankfully, she didn’t listen.  Instead, Jazzy took to Facebook live and detailed her horrifying experience in a 90 minute video.   Which, within hours, went viral.   Pretty soon #JusticeForJazzy started trending on Twitter and Facebook.  As of today, it garnered over 1 million views.

In response, University of Hartford’s President Greg Woodward issued a letter detailing the school’s anti-bullying stance.  As some say, an effort to cover their own butts.  Fox 61 secured a copy and posted it fully on their story.  But, here’s an excerpt:

“Acts of racism, bias, bullying, or other abusive behaviors will not be tolerated on this campus.  I pledge to do everything in my power to work with our community to address related concerns together.”

Eventually, and probably after building public pressure, West Hartford police escorted Brianna away in handcuffs and charged her with third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of the peace.  Both of which are misdemeanors which carry a maximum sentence of 6 months.

Yes, that went over like a lead balloon with the public. Especially when she posted $1,000 bond.

But, it seems like justice will be served considering a judge slapped her with a hate crime charge this morning, which carries a much larger jail sentence.

The judge also banned the defendant from campus grounds until they resolve the matter.  Probably for the best since the student body will probably tear her apart.

If you wish to see what happens next to Brianna, head to Hartford Superior Court on November 15th for her hearing.

But, take into consideration that Brianna also admitted to licking Jazzy’s plates and utensils, along with admitting that she did smear her own period blood on her roommate’s bag… but “anything else she bragged about on social media was a lie in an attempt to ‘appear funny.'”

Oh.  Wow.  Great sense of humor you have there…  I love it when people joke about defiling someone’s property with their own feces.  Tells me all about their level of crazy.

Brianna also pinned the blame on her former roommate, saying she started it first.  She told police she:

“Began to lash out due to a ‘hostile environment’ caused by [Jazzy’s] rude behavior, not compromising, and posting Snapchat videos of me sleeping and making fun of me snoring.”

Yes, so obviously the next step is to smear blood all over your roommate’s bag and lick her utensils.  Because that’s what a normal person does when someone makes fun of your snoring?

That aside, if Jazzy did secretly post videos of her sleeping roommate, then shame on her.  No two ways about it. But, Brianna’s revenge far outweighs anything her former roommate allegedly did.

Still, this entire debacle brings up a serious question: what if Jazzy was white and Brianna was black?  Would the University have reacted differently?

Jazzy thinks so, especially since school officials didn’t appear too sympathetic over photographic evidence of her roommate’s craziness.

She also questions what would have happened had she been the one rubbing blood on her roommate’s things:

“I probably would’ve been locked up. A whole of a bunch of stuff would’ve been done quickly.”

As for how the University sees Brianna now, they called her actions reprehensible and that they do not reflect the values of their institution.  Woodward also addressed the national attention on the University along with its accusations of racism.  He also confirmed that UHart expelled Brianna this morning.

But, Jazzy’s supporters say Woodward’s address is too late.  People around the world want to see Brianna repay every ounce of financial aid she may have received.  She scored a $20,000-per-year scholarship for… get this… pottery.  Mad yet?

Some also demand the University to give Jazzy free room & board for the remainder of her stay, should she choose to complete her studies there.  But, even with free tuition, I doubt Jazzy would want to stay in a school that sided with her abuser.

Hey, the school threatened her not to say anything and then tried to sweep this under the rug… sure looks like they picked their white horse.

Either way, though, no one wins here.

2017 continues to be a year filled with racial tension and this incident only adds more gasoline to the fire.  The University of Hartford’s reputation hangs in the balance with students stepping forward with stories about how the school failed them when they needed help.

On top of it, you know it’s only a matter of time until someone doxxes Brianna’s family and releases their private information on Reddit.  I’m pretty sure that already happened.

As for Jazzy, she now knows what she unknowingly exposed herself to over the past month and a half.  On top of it, questioned if she’s somewhat of a lesser person because of her skin color.  For a student to actively question if a school would have protected her better had she been white shows there is a failure somewhere in the school’s security protocol.

Also, parents need to question themselves what would they do had Jazzy been their daughter.  How would you feel knowing your child roomed with a maniac that you couldn’t protect them from?   It’s absolutely sickening.

What’s your take on this, anyway?  Has this entire situation been blown out of proportion or does this deserve every ounce of national attention?  What do you think will happen to Brianna and, more importantly, Jazzy?
