For once, Connecticut isn’t on a list with the word “worst” in the title. For years, we’ve been ridiculed with list after list with titles like “Worst Drivers in the Country“, “Worst State Capitals to Live In“, “Worst States for Road Trips“, “Worst States to Retire In“, and “Worst States to Make a Living In“.

But today, we’re on a good list.

The Best 100+ Things to Do in New England This Summer lists 8 of Connecticut’s best attractions on the list, and they include some of my personal favorite events in Connecticut.

Among the events lists ComiConn at Foxwoods on June 10-11, Connecticut’s Historic Gardens Day on June 25, The Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz in Hartford, the Milford Oyster Festival on August 19, the Norwalk Oyster Festival on September 8-10, The Durham Fair on September 21-24, the Southington Apple Festival on September 29-October 1 & October 6-8, and the Chowder Days at Mystic Seaport on October 7-9.

It’s definitely an exciting update to the never ending lists that Connecticut seem to be on, and this one is thankfully positive. The writers over at NBC finally see the value in our precious state.

Hopefully the streak continues. Here’s to Connecticut being on more and more “best of”  lists to come!
