Did you purchase your bread and milk yet? If so, time is running out. In a few short hours, Connecticut will soon be blanketed with fresh snow.
But, wait. Didn’t the leaves just fall down?
Yeah I know. I’m feeling it too. But, like the holiday shopping season, it looks like winter is creeping on us much earlier this year.
So, here’s what you need to know about the forecast: The snow will be arriving between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. tonight. Yup, that’s about time when people are heading home. According to the forecast on WTNH, it will be “heavy onset with limited availability.” It goes onto say that it will be changing to freezing rain and sleet overnight, with a rainy Friday morning commute.
And, there will be an accumulated snowfall expected between one and four inches.
In preparation for the upcoming snow, many schools across the state have early dismissals. However, many of us will have to travel home from work tonight in it.So, be careful while travelling home tonight. Go slow, and allow yourself extra space between cars.
And, if you haven’t yet, be sure to use your lunch break to make sure that your car is ready for the commute home. Make sure that you have at least a half of a tank of gas, plenty of air in your tires, and plenty of windshield wiper fluid. Oh, and make sure that you have an ice scraper.
I mean, as inconvenient and annoying this snowstorm is (especially before Thanksgiving), we got this. After all, we are from Connecticut. We’re used to winter, as much as we may not like it.
However, as much as we may not like the winter temperatures, we can definitely use it as an excuse to have a lazy night in — you know with hot chocolate, a warm blanket, and Netflix.
With that being said, just make sure that you stay safe out there.
