Let it snow! And then let it snow some more! In fact, everyone gets snow this winter!
OnlyInYourState got their hands on the latest Farmer’s Almanac and, sadly, last winter looks like it will pale in comparison to what’s coming. Look. I know fall isn’t even here yet, but it’s good to know what you should be shopping for well in advance.
I mean, shovels don’t cost nearly as much as they do in January. So… there. And while you’re at it, stock up on new snow boots and other winter essentials. You’ll need them.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts that we’ll be buried in snow next winter. But, that’s not all. The heaviest snowfall looks to fall around January 20th through the 23rd. There’s also some other heavy storms predicted on February 4th through the 7th, 16th through the 19th. But, this time, snowfall seems all but guaranteed in March, too.
They say expect some major winter activity March 1st through the 3rd and then again starting the 20th to the 23rd.
Which, if you’ve been counting, appears to be way more snowstorms than predicted in years past.
On the plus side, temperatures won’t be entirely miserable during the colder months. Actually, the Farmer’s Almanac says next winter looks to have normal cold temperatures and nothing abnormally freezing.
As for what that means for ice skating and fishing fanatics? Well, it’s wait and see right now. But, if you love skiing and sledding, this looks to be your year. Besides, we didn’t get a decent amount of wet snow last year. So, snowman assembly appeared a little dry last year.
Either way, with it still being sales-tax free week in CT, you might want to see if you can get your hands on some winter gear. Because, chances are, you’ll need it. A lot.
