With the political season heating up, we have decided to countdown Connecticut’s Top 8 “Ugliest” Politicians. Clearly there are more than enough to choose from, especially here in Connecticut, so we decided to break it down to the 8 worst.
Keep in mind this is less about actual “looks” and more about the shady, devious, unlikable things these politicians stand for or have done in the past.
Let’s kick things off shall we?

POSITION: Mayor of East Haven
YEARS IN OFFICE: 1994-present
UGLIEST MOMENT: What better way to kick off the list than with the man behind the taco comment heard round the world. Joe managed to cause quite the national controversy back in 2012. Four local policemen were arrest by the FBI and accused of being “bullies with badges” for their alleged racial profiling of Latinos. Maturo stood by the officers and stated that he didn’t believe any of the charges at all. On the same day the arrests happened, a reporter asked Maturo what he was planning on doing with the Latino community. He response is what eventually took the internet by storm when he said “I might have tacos when I go home”. Many people felt this comment was seen as insensitive on it’s own, but it didn’t help that he made it immediately after all the recent racism problems that had just happened.
