If you are an adult, you shouldn’t make out with children. Seems like a simple theory to comprehend, right? There’s a gray area. I get that. I remember being 16-years-old and wanting to date 20-year-old guys. Guys in their twenties can be dumb and not think with their head… well, the head on their shoulders. But if you are heavily involved in the church- Say you happen to be a Religious Education Assistant at Sir Paul Roman Catholic Church in Glastonbury, perhaps you should know better.
Apparently 24-year-old Stephen Zocco wasn’t smart enough to know better. Despite being part of religious studies (which I’m relatively sure does not condone this behavior) he was found in the Glastonbury High School parking lot having “relations” with a 15-year-old girl.
Come on… 15?!
I’m sure there will be people reading this that kind of understand why he might be attracted to a high school freshman but let’s stop for a moment and realize that she’s a child. In my eyes (and that of the law) a 15-year-old is a just a kid! I understand that a lot of young girls slut themselves up and dress like they’re 22- but that doesn’t change the fact that they just (or maybe not even yet) went through puberty. Shame on this dude for having a position in the church as well. It’s bad enough to be a creep that takes advantage of teens, but to also represent the church is just plain dumb. He (obviously) was suspended from his duties at the church until a verdict has been reached but the officials released a statement saying “The arrest of Stephen Zocco comes as sad and troubling news” – Yeah, no kidding.
AND in a parking lot, in your car, at her high school? Just a class act fool. I’m sure the cops that found him were thrilled.
He will be arraigned today and was released on a $10,000 bond.
