We had an earthquake last night (don’t lie and say you felt it)
Do you remember August 23, 2011? I do. I was sitting at work and people ran in to my office to tell me to get outside because there was earthquake and they were afraid the building may have been damaged.
I, like most people, didn’t believe them since I felt nothing, because the earthquake was in Virginia, 440 miles away, but it registered 5.8 magnitude.
Last night, there was another earthquake – not nearly as powerful, but a lot closer – just 113 miles from Hartford, in Contoocook, New Hampshire, with a magnitude of 2.6. It was at 9:07pm last night, right while you were weeping at the Glee tribute to Cory Monteith.
If you felt it, you can report it to the USGS (just be honest).
