Everyone is in Christmas mode right now…but lets not forget about a little holiday that became famous from the legendary TV show Seinfeld. If you don’t know what Festivus is…I’ll give you the run down.
Held annually on Dec. 23, the Festivus celebration consists of the following phases: Festivus Dinner, Airing of Grievances and Feats of Strength.
The aluminum pole serves as the centerpiece of the home’s decorations.
During the Airing of Grievances, which takes place immediately after the Festivus dinner, Each person begins lashing out at others and the world about how they have been disappointed in the past year
The Feats of Strength, the head of the household gets to choose a family member or friend and challenge him to a wrestling match. Festivus won’t end until the head of the household has been successfully pinned.
The holiday was invented in the 1960s by the father of “Seinfeld” screenwriter David O’Keefe, according to Wikipedia
Here’s hoping you experience a Festivus miracle.
