If it’s been a while since you’ve heard anything about Foursquare, you’re not alone.
The location-based “check in” social media app has long surpassed its time of important. Nowadays, you can “check in” with any form of social media – your Facebook posts say you’re posting from work, your Tweets say you’re tweeting from your couch, and so on.
But in what feels like a desperate stab to be back in the news, Foursquare has crowned the “Best Bar in Every State in America.”
Alright, we’re a sucker for a good ranking or “best of” thing. We’ll bite.
For Connecticut, the Stamford Advocate was kind enough to report that Norwalk’s own Local Kitchen and Beer took the crown with a 9.0 rating on the social media app. How did they arrive at that number? Well, Foursquare users rated the bar highly, crediting their “draft beer” and “french fries.”
I’ve never been to Local Kitchen and Beer, so it’s hard to take issue with this ranking, but I do know a little bit about Foursquare. And what I know, mostly, is that people don’t really use it anymore. So I guess what I’m saying is that I’m not sure how much stock I’m putting in the reviews of people who are behind the times enough to still be using Foursquare.
With all of that in mind, I would be willing to venture a guess that Local Kitchen and Beer is probably not awful. So with St. Patrick’s Day coming up, if you’re in the Norwalk area, maybe that’s a good place to spend the day.
Now we turn to you, CT Boom readers: What bar do you think deserves to be dubbed the “Best in Connecticut?” What bar will you be visiting on St. Patrick’s Day? Head to the comments and let us know.
