If our local Connecticut meteorologists are to be believed, today is the last day of the current stretch of lousy weather. And it can’t end fast enough. It’s the final weekend of April, and other than that random two day heat wave last month, it really hasn’t felt like Spring yet.
And if you’re bummed you haven’t been able to be outside, just imagine what Connecticut’s college students are going through. Not that bad weather would stop them from partying, but it’s preventing them from heading to the beach. And this weekend, the sun’s coming out and the yearly tradition is back – Fairfield University’s Clam Jam.
The infamous Clam Jam. What used to be held at Lantern Point by students would lead to countless arrests, noise violations and overall drunken debauchery is now officially sanctioned by the university and held as an official, ticketed event. They moved it to Penfield Beach and, with that, have to officially close a bunch of streets leading towards Quincy Street.
83°F and sunny on Saturday, 1500 students – get ready.
