Say it ain’t so! Turns out that the evil reign of high gas prices is at an end. For the first time in over a decade, we get to fill up on the lowest prices for the July 4th weekend.
Fox 61 says that we haven’t seen prices this low since Bush was in office. Yeah, 2005. Crazy to think about, right? We haven’t seen gas prices under $2.50 for 12 years.
Yep, the state average is $2.45 for a gallon of regular. Of course, depending on where you live in the state, prices will vary. But, on the plus side, they are just going to get lower.
AAA says due to a glut in oil supplies, prices will continue their downwards spiral. So, even after all that travel over the July 4th weekend, you’ll still avoid the pain at the pump.
While some people disagree that we’re dealing with the lowest prices in a long while, many forget that summer months are notorious for jacked up prices. Sure, we loved seeing gas fall below $2 that one time a couple years back. But, we never saw anything come close to those prices during the travel months.
And, considering this July 4th weekend aims to shatter the previous record for those hitting the roads, this is a spectacular and welcome change.
So, fuel up and enjoy these crazy-low prices. Because they’re gonna keep falling.
