Over the past few years, if this map from VinePair is to be believed, Americans are drinking way more wine than ever before. And that’s especially true of the northeast, with Connecticut having a population as one of the highest wine consumers per capita.
The theory for the increase, which began in the early 90s, is all because of the recommendation that wine in moderation is healthy for you. And Americans really took it to heart.
However, this trend is actually probably much higher, as they took the statistic by the entire population, not just the 21+ numbers. Take a look for yourself:
