As a millennial, I love taking selfies. Whether they are by myself or with friends, it’s easier now than ever before to grab a quick picture. All you have to do is grab your smartphone and smile. And, since we carry our phones everywhere, you can take a selfie anywhere and everywhere.
But, imagine being able to take a selfie and be able to give back to the community? This Saint Patrick’s Day, Guinness is giving you the power to do exactly that.
All you have to do is share a photo of yourself with a mustache — whether it may be drawn on, self-grown, or Guinness-enhanced. After all, Guinness drinkers know far too well that the beer leaves you with a foam mustache. Then, be sure to tag @GuinnessUSA and use the hashtag #StacheforCharity and share on any social media platform.
Pretty easy, right?
With every photo shared, Guinness wil donate $1 to the Guinness Gives Back Fund, capping the donation at $100,000. According to an article on Great Beer Now entitled “Sport Your Best ‘Stache for Charity with Guinness,” the Guinness Gives Back Fund is a charity that supports “non-profit organizations” in “local communities.”
The article goes on to say that this is Guinness’ way to “foster a strong sense of community” as well as “bring people together.”
And what better way to bring people together than to take a selfie? Honestly, I can’t think of much else.
Therefore, no matter how you’re planning to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day — whether you’re going to a local parade, heading to a pub with friends, or just wearing green, be sure to snap a few pictures. And, if you’re the friend whose always taking the photos — after all, we all have that one friend — be sure to remind your friends that it does go to a good cause.
But, make sure you post them as soon as you can. You have until March 31 to ensure that yours qualifies as a donation.
