If you win an Oscar, it’s one of the best achievements you can possibly get. For one songwriter, they reached the mountaintop!

Andrew Rossomando co-wrote the song with Lady Gaga, Andrew Wyatt, and Mark Ronson. He’s originally from Hamden and those are some of the biggest names in the industry when it comes to writing songs!

Andrew says that “‘Shallow’ speaks to the power of vulnerability. I’m proud to have written it with friends and deeply touched that it resonates with so many people. An award is icing on a cake.”

There’s a musical background and history in Rossomando’s life, his father, Fred, was a longtime music teacher in Wallingford schools. His mother, Josephine, a singer. Sister Carmella plays bass, sings, and teaches music at Wintergreen Magnet School in Hamden!
