If you are thinking of getting out of town for the holidays, you probably should have left already.
A record 112.5 million travelers are expected to travel over the year-end holidays, 4.4 percent more than last year, an increase pegged to the strong economy and favorable gas prices, according to AAA, which specializes in roadside assistance, travel and insurance.
That means almost a third of people in the entire United States will be flying, bussing, taking the train, or loading up the car to hit the road this weekend.
102 million people is the most since AAA began tracking holiday travel in 2001 and the 10th consecutive year with an increase.
6.7 million are expected to travel by air this year, the highest total in 15 years. Travel on trains, buses and cruise ships have about 3.7 million passengers.
It’s 2018, just spend the holidays video-chatting like everyone else!
