I’ve been looking for awesome places to go in Connecticut that require zero dollars (well except for gas) include swimming, sunbathing and nature. There is a perfect place that embodies all of those things in a town that I’ve never heard of: Chaplin.
This magical oasis is called Diana’s Pool.
It’s located easily off the road…about a 30 second walk from the parking lot and street. You’ll see waterfalls and cascades that have created natural pools being overlooked by big boulders perfect for climbing, and laying out.
It’s also a popular spot for cliff jumping into the largest pool, which is Diana’s Pool.
If you search online, you’ll come across numerous websites that say swimming is not allowed, but everyone does it anyways, so bring your suit.
It’s also the perfect spot to grill out with some beers, or to bring the dog for a little nature walk and swim.
Here’s a cool video that should be the official tourist commercial for Diana’s Pool by Devin Patrick:
Then after, you can take the 15 minute drive to UCONN Storrs for some ice cream at the UCONN Dairy Bar…it’s freaking amazing.
