Nik Wallenda has become famous for death defying high rope walking acts across the world. What most people find amusing is while he is walking the tightrope he is constantly thanking Jesus out loud. Personally, I’m not sure how praising the Lord will protect you from falling to your death, it’s not like Jesus told you to put your life at risk like a fool- but alas, he has survived this far so maybe I stand corrected.
Nevertheless, on Friday, May 22nd, Nik Wallenda will be in Connecticut. What better way than to celebrate the grand opening of the Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods than with some guy mumbling how great Jesus is while walking on a rope between the parking garage and the new shopping center? Yep, that’s happening.
He will walk 711 feet at about 80 feet in the air. Spectators can join him at 1pm and view the walk from the lawn by the main entrance. He will donate clothing from the outlets to United Way.
What may be the more exciting news is that the outlets will finally be opening at Foxwoods. This was a 125 million new investment for the casino.
