As Spring starts to really come into its own, the college school year starts to wind down. And there will be plenty of traffic on several Saturday mornings for the next few weekends as commencements happen all across the state – from Storrs to New Haven and everywhere in between, it’ll be busy.
One thing everyone likes to look at is what celebrities and notable figures will be giving commencement addresses and receiving honorary degrees. Yale and UConn usually have the biggest names come out, but Quinnipiac this year has one that they’ve just announced.
Kal Penn, whose greatest claim to fame is the dubious distinction of being one of the stars of the “Harold and Kumar” franchise, as well as giving up acting and becoming an associate director at the White House Office of Public Engagement under President Obama, will be speaking to the graduates in Hamden at the College of Arts and Sciences on Sunday, May 17.
