L.L. Bean is officially taking over York Square in New Haven. The area has already become the shopping mecca for Yalies with the Yale Bookstore, Apple Store, Urban Outfitters, the now defunct American Apparel, and now a giant boot. I am all for insane marketing ploys and a “bootmobile” of the classic Bean Boot in size 747 causing a traffic jam in downtown New Haven definitely caught my eye.

The two-floor, 9,000-square-foot store will open summer of 2018. No new building in New Haven wouldn’t be complete without an attachment to Yale, so naturally there is graduate housing on top of the shop. No word if giant bootmobile will stay.
