It’s April, and if your kids were one of the lucky ones that didn’t have to lose their spring vacation this year do to the CRAZY snow storms, you may be wondering what can you can do to entertain them during spring vacation. I did the research for you. Here are some family fun events perfect for spring vacation in the Hartford Area.
The New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks . On April 13 and 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Fantastic Flying Machines LEGO contest. April 15 is the Parachute Drop. April 16 is open cockpit day; April 17 is an aero-modeling workshop for ages 8 through 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $5 for the kit.Admission is $12 for ages 12 and up, $11 for seniors 65 and up and $6.50 for ages 4 to 11. The Historical Society of Glastonbury: Tuesday, April 14, titled “Kids in Jerusha’s Kitchen: Colonial Cooking for Kids” at the Welles Shipman Ward House, 972 Main St., South Glastonbury. Children ages 8 through 12 prepare a simple colonial style meal: an ancient 18th century macaroni and cheese recipe. For more info www.hsgct.org.
