My best friend and I have this saying every time we’re together and we get to bitching about work and bills: “We just need to get discovered”. The only problem is that neither of us have any real talent that’s “discoverable-worthy”. We think we’re funny though.
But, good news for you Connecticut people that actually do have talent: a new online version of all those popular talent competition shows on TV is launching Tuesday, April 1st…and the prizes are pretty dope. It’s called Star On The Web, it’s open to only CT residents of all ages to compete monthly in the Vocalist, Musician, or Comedian categories.
The grand prize: An exclusive one-year talent management contract with a value of up to $10,000 or more provided by ArMuEnt out of Darien.
Even if you aren’t the grand prize winner, this competition gives you a chance to perform and win prizes if you don’t suck. Every month, a winner from each category will be awarded with free tickets and concerts in CT–and a chance to perform live at The Space in Hamden. Every quarter, the judges will nominate a winner in each category who will all eventually move on to compete in the semifinals/finals at Comix at Foxwoods in January 2015.
All you have to do is submit as many 90 second performances at Star On The Web every month as you’d like (uploads are $1–but there are packages available) and hope and pray that you are better than this:
And try not to start your Star On The Web video with a greeting to their wonderful judges like this:
And just remember, to bring the energy, work it, and have some sweet moves
Just go for it!!! Do you, and remember it’s all about your attitude. “I only gave my best, and have no regrets at all”.
