278 Park Street in New Haven. That’s an address that’s been ready to be a restaurant since 2005, but it’s just sitting there, completely unoccupied. However, nine long years later, it may finally get to fulfill its dream of being a restaurant this Summer thanks to the one-and-only Mario Batali.
He has a few obstacles to climb, but it shouldn’t be too difficult – Yale has a long-term lease on the site, and Saint Thomas More Chapel owns the property, and both groups want it to happen. Plus, he’s a legitimate business owner – and as a ton of successful restaurants already. All they need is the word “go” from the city of New Haven to make it happen – and the quicker the better.
The only question remains – would it be another location of Tarry Lodge in Westport and Port Chester, or something new entirely.
