Was This Morning The Worst Commute In Connecticut History?
If you were trying to get to work, or anything really, this morning here in Connecticut then you were part of a horrific morning of traffic and delays.
Let’s start with Metro-North. Due to a power issue service was suspended between Stamford and Grand Central. Part of the New Haven line was also suspended.
Now, because of this everyone was trying to find alternate routes. Which turned 95 south into a driving nightmare. Backed up nearly stopped traffic between exit 30 in Stratford and exit 5 in Greeniwch would have been enough to make me just give up on the work day. That’s close to a 30 MILE delay.
The Merritt wasn’t any better. If you were unlucky enough to be sitting between Exits 52 in Trumbull and 36 in New Canaan, you were right in the middle of a 21 mile backup.
What a horrid commute.
My advice, just be a little extra friendly to everyone in your office this morning. There is a good chance they just had worst morning commute of their lives.
