It’s National Coffee Day! Best Local Coffee Shops

Today is National Coffee Day and I’m a big fan of coffee.  Well, I guess I’m a big fan of caffeine in general.  Regardless, there’s a ton of coffee shops offering deals today but let’s start with the ones that mean the most to Nutmeggers:

Dunkin Donuts: If you download their free app onto your iPhone or Android, you will have access to a free small hot or cold coffee today!  All the fine print nonsense here.

Starbucks: There’s a new coffee in town and it’s called “Ethiopia”.  All day today you can try their new Ethiopian coffee and “discover” the flavor.  They’re claiming that Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, so I guess it’s something we should definitely try.

Of course most of us spend a majority of the time at these major chains- Usually there’s one you prefer over the other- Or if you’re like me, Dunkin Donuts starts my day, then Starbucks is my afternoon fix… Like I said earlier, I’m a big fan of caffeine.  BUT- there’s a ton of local coffee shops that are amazing as well.  Here is a list of the top five coffee shops in Connecticut according to Yelp!

#5:  Las Vetas Lounge, 27 Unquowa Rd, Fairfield, CT

#4:  Bagel King of Bridgeport, 276 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.

#3:  Harborview Market, 218 Harborview Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.

#2: Port Coffeehouse, 2889 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.

#1: J. Rene Coffee Roasters, 320 Park Rd, West Hartford, CT

If you’re favorite spot didn’t make the list, then a. You don’t review on Yelp! and b. You should leave your favorite place and why it’s the best in the comments section below.  Admit-tingly, I’m just always looking for more great coffeehouses to try.  I’m a caffeine fein.  I’ve accepted it.

we tried a new "coffee bar" in Stamford, CT right off 95 Exit 8.  It was spectacular! They also gave us a free cup of coffee on National Coffee Day but it just wasn't enough.  I had the SeaJo Caramel (iced) and it was finished before I even got in my car.  Really nice people working there and very informative place.  I think they were even roasting their coffee on premise which smelt amazing! definitely a must try if you are a coffee fein :) Forgot to add their name was BonJo Coffee
