Stand-up comedy is one of the hardest career paths in entertainment. It takes an extraodinary amount of focus, confidence, talent, extremely tough skin, and no fear of rejection. Which is why the majority of us just go to comedy shows to laugh and drink instead of trying to make a career out of being a comedian.

This fall there will now be one more great place to see some big name comics here in Connecticut.

Sportech has announced their first ever comedy series that will happen at Sportech’s Sports Haven location on Long Wharf Drive in New Haven.

The three show series will kick off this Saturday night with Gilbert Gottfried headlining. Pretty big name for the first show of a new comedy series. Which is probably a good sign of the caliber of talent to come at the other dates.

Gottfried will be sharing the stage on Saturday night with some local comedians. John Romanoff, who was the 2012 Grand Champion of the Funniest Comic in New England Contest. Also, Peaches Rodriguez who is the current funniest Comic in Connecticut Contest Grand Champion.

Should be a great night of comedy. Show starts at 8pm on Saturday night and you can get tickets HERE
