Did you know Connecticut has the best marching band in the nation? If you didn’t know, then you should cheer for the Bears!
The Norwalk High School Marching Band are national champions! They successfully defended their title at the USBands National championships on Sunday and took home their 2nd US Bands Group VI National Championship title. That’s on TOP of their stunning undefeated season!
They also scored the coveted Best Music and Best Overall Effect awards, as well.
Overall, their score was 97.775 out of a possible 100.
So, a caller to the Anna and Raven Show on Star 99.9 reported the good news for their daily morning segment “Tell Me Something Good.”
Since the 175-member marching band competed against a myriad of national high school marching bands, from New York to Alaska, at Met Life Stadium, the honor is a major win! Talk about major pressure.

Also, Connecticut has way more to boast about! Fox 61 reports that Newtown, Trumbull, and Southington also made a strong show at the championships. The Newtown Nighthawks took home the title for their division too!
On top of that, Trumbull took home several accolades, as well.
Although they finished 2nd, the Trumbull marching band took home awards for Best Percussion, Best Color Guard and Best Visual. On top of that, they only missed top marks by .162 points since they scored 97.613. Pretty incredible! Good job, Golden Eagles!
