9 Reasons We’re Glad Pepe’s Pizza Isn’t Closing

Yesterday, you might have heard that Pepe’s Pizza was closing their doors. You might have also noticed that yesterday was April Fool’s Day. Were you fooled? Yes. Were you angry? Oh hell yes.

As a Connecticut native and all around pizza lover I would probably be horribly distraught too if some asshole (me) said Pepe’s was actually closing its doors forever and ever. So to honor the fact that Pepe’s is actually celebrating their 90th anniversary by, you know, staying open and feeding the masses, let’s remember why exactly we love it so much.

You have a lot of nerve making a joke about someones lively hood. Pepe’s is not only a wonderful family owned business, but a New Haven treasure. WHATEVER EDITOR OK’D THIS PRANK SHOULD BE FIRED AND THIS PAPER SHOULD HAVE A SUIT BOROUGHT AGAINST THEM. I live in NJ so your joke went way to far.

Not for nothing, what if one of their employees (or companies who distribute to them) read this article and believed it? Talk about mean spirited.
May the New Haven Advocate rest in peace (because its rolling in its grave seeing what it’s successor is up to).
