Rentschler Field Rolling Out New Food Options For Sold Out UCONN Game This Weekend
If you are going to the UCONN/Michigan game at Rentschler Field this weekend you are in for quite a day. Not only will you be seeing a sold out national televised game and have near perfect weather but you will also be eating like a king.
Global Spectrum who manages the stadium announced this week that they are making some upgrades to the food that is offered. They will be opening seven new concession stands with all kinds of delicious new items on the menus. There will also be a new stand with Mexican food, a BBQ stand, as well as a new stand serving up fried chicken.
One of the best new stands with the greatest name ever, “The Hot Dog Nation”, will feature the “New Englander” hot dog. A hot dog covered in lobster mac & cheese. Holy lord. That might be enough to get me to drive to Storrs this weekend and buy tickets from a shady scalper.
Should I make the decision to drive up to Rentschler this weekend, it will be a tough task trying to find a way into the tasty concession area promise land. UCONN had to install 2,300 temporary seats to accommodate the sold out crowd. They are expecting over 42,000 fans on Saturday. Which would make it a UCONN record for the largest crowd in school history.
And if you’re lucky enough to be going yourself, get that New Englander dog!
