Of course the list has to start with the day’s namesake “Friday the 13th.” The 1980 slasher flick about the deranged Jason Voorhees actually took place at the fictional Camp Crystal Lake in Connecticut. However, there is a Crystal Lake in Ellington, but no camp of the same name. Still, something has to be said for how creepy Connecticut is if it inspired an infamous horror movie.
