No, they’re not moving “Saturday Night Live” from Studio 8H at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. But, the crew from “Saturday Night Live” is going to be in Greenwich next month for the 3rd annual Greenwich International Film Festival.
And not just any crew, but truly the most important part of the show – the writing staff. Tim Herlihy (who has written many of Adam Sandler’s films, including Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore) and Bryan Tucker (a former head writer, and an actual Peabody Award winner).
They’ll be on a panel entitled LIVE FROM CONNECTICUT: A Discussion with Saturday Night Live Writers, telling all about the process and how it goes from script to screen in less than a week. And it’s all moderated by a guy hilariously named Lorne (not Michaels though – Lorne Manly from the New York Times). It all goes down Thursday, June 1, at the Avon Theatre in Stamford.
But this isn’t the only event that’s happening – some highlights:
- A Flo Rida opening night concert (seriously!)
- A screening of the new ESPN 30 for 30 about Mike and the Mad Dog
- and…a Cannonball Run reunion – no, not the movie, but the actual people who did the real race in the 70s from Darien to California.
