Westover Elementary School in Stamford will remain closed while mold remediation is conducted, officials announced during a press conference Friday.
Stamford Mayor David Martin and newly appointed ‘Mold Task Force’ officials made the announcement at the Government Center Friday morning.
Stamford has had a recent history with mold, with schools forced to shut down and eradicate the substance before opening to the public.
School officials say a preliminary air quality test showed elevated mold levels, which prompted their decision to close the school for remediation.
Board of Education officials are going to hold a meeting to discuss further details and a new temporary location on Monday.
