Stressed?  Need to be more active?  Or do you need an excuse to meet new people?  Fear not, because the state rolled out a new initiative that takes care of all three.   Also, it’s totally free.  So, if you want in on some free yoga, now’s your chance.

NBC Connecticut reports that four CT cities will offer the free yoga class through September 2nd.  Catch classes in Bridgeport,  Hartford, New Haven, or Waterbury.

While some areas will hold two classes a week, other cities offer more flexible schedules.

For example, Fairfield County residents will enjoy free yoga classes on Tuesday and Saturday.  Meanwhile, Hartford offers classes every day except for Friday.   Classes are held at different hours of the day, from morning to night.

So, no matter your schedule, you’ll definitely find a class.

Also, certified and local yoga instructors will lead the classes, which are open to all levels, from beginner to expert.

This initiative is a part of ConnectiCare.  It’s an attempt to bring together the community and offer a new way to get fit or increase their well-being.

As for what you need for these classes:

“Bring a bottle of water, a towel, a yoga mat, and your sense of adventure for yoga in your city!”

Do you think more cities need to join this initiative?  What other community events do you hope to find in the future?
