The heat of August is upon us and summer is winding down, but suddenly you realize “I haven’t had a lobster roll this year!!”
The season is running out for you to have this delicious summer meal. I know Connecticut is always known for perfecting pizza and inventing the hamburger, but it’s nice that we get a third claim to food fame! A meal that was born in Connecticut in 1929 at Perry’s in Milford. Literally, it was the “Home of the Famous Lobster Roll.” The original restaurant is no longer there, but the legacy of the lobster roll lives on at the 7 Seas Restaurant & Pub in Milford.
Leave it to Mo Rocca to prove it on CBS Sunday Morning (yes – real news!):
BTW the real lobster roll is hot with butter. Don’t you DARE serve me a cold salad one!
