Swifties, the wait is finally over. Taylor Swift is at long last about to release new music.
Yesterday, the singer announced her new album “Reputation,” expected to be released November 10. The first single of the album is expected to be released tonight. I can hear all of the Taylor Swift fans around the world scream in excitement.
This announcement was after days of social media teasing and taunting. First, she deleted everything off of her Twitter and Instagram pages. Then, she posted videos of a snake, which sent fans into a frenzy.
As you could imagine, my social media newsfeeds blew up upon receiving the news– either with people who were excited about the singer’s new release or with those who questioned her.
This is the singer’s follow up to the 2014 megahit 1989, which sold 9.5 million copies as of January 2017, according to the album’s Wikipedia page. 1989 spanned several hits, including Shake it Off, Blank Space, Out of the Woods and my personal favorite, Style.
Since 1989, Swift has been in the spotlight for several different reasons. These include her relationships with DJ Calvin Harris, and Tom Hiddleston. This also includes her feuds with rapper Kayne West and Kim Kardashian West as well as singer Katy Perry. And, most recently, she was in the news due to her sexual assault trial against Colorado DJ David Mueller.
With that being said, there’s a chance that all of that might be featured as lyrical content in the album. After all, Swift tends to write about things that happen to her throughout her life. I’m sure this album will be no exception.
However, like her previous works, I am certain of one thing — this album will be a success. I can already see Reputation trending on Twitter, and I’m sure that it will be the number one song on iTunes. Either way, I’m still looking forward to listening to her newest album, as I’ve waited three years for this.
Taylor, I’m ready for you to show me incredible things.
