1 JEFF BAGWELL – KILLINGWORTH

Number 1 is recently inducted Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Jeff Bagwell. Bagwell is technically from Boston but he moved to Killingworth, CT when he was barely one year old. He grew up and went to school his whole life in Killingworth, CT. Bagwell has to be the most decorated and successful athlete to come out of Connecticut. Bagwell spent all 15 seasons in the MLB with the Houston Astros. He was the rookie of the year in 1991, he won the gold glove, NL MVP in and lead the NL in RBIs all in1994. He was a 4 time all-star (94,96,97,99) and he was a 3x silver slugger (94, 97, 99) To finish his career of a .297 hitter with 449 homeruns, 1,529 RBIs, and 2,314 hits he had his number retires by the Houston Astros. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame this year in 2017.
